We installed 17 matte-black automatic commercial faucets across executive-office and transportation restroom modernization projects between 2022 and 2025, and by 2026 the operational consistency has remained substantially stronger than earlier dark-finish touchless systems previously maintained in similar high-use environments. Older matte-black commercial faucets repeatedly developed unstable infrared activation near polished surfaces, visible finish deterioration under aggressive cleaning schedules, and delayed shutoff timing during continuous public usage, whereas this faucet maintained highly dependable motion detection with steadier stream control throughout heavy daily operation. Previous dark-finish systems also required repeated servicing to stabilize calibration settings during fluctuating inlet-pressure conditions and changing restroom lighting environments, while this unit maintained noticeably stronger activation stability with fewer maintenance interruptions overall. Maintenance supervisors initially spent extra time adjusting sensitivity settings on several shallow sink installations, but after installation was standardized service requests related to sensor inconsistency declined noticeably and the valve regulation, infrared responsiveness, and long-term operational reliability remained highly uniform across all installed facilities.
