Matte black changes the character of Elvara considerably, giving the faucet a more architectural presence while allowing its crystal detailing to remain visually distinct. That contrast works especially well against pale stone, but the dark surface makes dried mineral residue easier to notice, so routine cleaning should be planned rather than treated as occasional restoration. From an installation perspective, basin geometry and water landing deserve attention before the countertop is drilled. Control spacing should remain symmetrical, and the plumbing below the deck needs enough clearance for adjustment and future servicing. I would also evaluate the fixture under the project's actual lighting because crystal and matte surfaces react very differently to directional illumination. The result is dramatic without becoming difficult to integrate into a contemporary hospitality bathroom.

Lighting Exposes Residue

Our mistake wasn't choosing matte black; it was combining matte black with extremely bright vanity lighting and expecting every surface to look perfect all day. The Elvara itself has been perfectly serviceable, but the lighting makes small dried marks obvious much sooner than expected. We've simply adjusted the cleaning schedule around that reality. I still prefer the dark finish aesthetically and the deck-mounted arrangement works well. Three stars because the maintenance expectation should have been considered during design.
