Fontana Commercial Chrome Touchless Automatic Sensor Faucet
Infrared Detection Stability, Solenoid Response Control & Commercial Pressure Management
Engineered for high-traffic washrooms, this chrome touchless faucet integrates infrared sensing and automatic water control for efficient, repeatable commercial operation.
How should the infrared sensing field be commissioned to prevent basin-induced false activation?
Sensor validation should be completed with the finished basin, countertop, and faucet in their permanent positions. Installers should test multiple hand approach angles and confirm that reflected infrared energy from polished ceramics or nearby surfaces does not maintain an unintended activation signal after the user withdraws.
What causes pressure transients when the electronic solenoid closes rapidly?
Rapid solenoid closure abruptly reduces water velocity inside the branch line, converting flow momentum into a temporary pressure rise. Where supply pressure, pipe velocity, or branch length makes transient loading significant, plumbing design should address water-hammer control rather than relying solely on the faucet valve.
Why should dynamic inlet pressure be verified during simultaneous restroom demand?
Static pressure does not account for friction losses generated while other fixtures are operating. Measuring pressure at the faucet under representative peak demand confirms that the electronic valve receives adequate hydraulic head for stable discharge and helps identify excessive losses through piping, stops, filters, or fittings.
How can incomplete automatic shutoff be diagnosed during preventive maintenance?
Persistent discharge after sensor deactivation can indicate debris at the solenoid seat, restricted valve movement, or an abnormal continuous sensor signal. Maintenance should isolate the water supply, inspect the filter and valve path, clean the sensor window, and verify repeated opening and complete closure before returning the faucet to service.
