The strongest argument for this model is operational rather than cosmetic. Fontana specifies a microcomputer-controlled sensor capable of adapting its detection zone to basin conditions, along with AC/DC operation, an internal strainer, brass valve construction, 4.5 L/min flow, and a preset 15 cm detection distance. Those are useful attributes for facilities teams responsible for maintaining multiple fixtures rather than simply installing them. The matte-black finish gives the faucet contemporary architectural relevance, although the more important consideration is keeping the strainer accessible because waterborne debris can affect solenoid performance over time. A published operating-pressure range also helps with engineering review. Overall, the combination provides credible service features beneath a relatively understated commercial form.

Throughout procurement and installation, every interaction with Fontana's commercial support staff remained professional, responsive, and technically accurate. Their ability to communicate effectively with engineers, contractors, and facility managers created confidence that extended well beyond the product itself.

Setup Felt Fussy

Initially, our plumbing crew needed more time than expected to settle the sensor response after installation. Once the surrounding basin conditions and user approach were accounted for, activation became much more predictable. The oil-rubbed bronze finish gives the restroom a substantial commercial appearance and hides routine water spotting better than polished finishes. Performance after commissioning has been dependable, but the extra field adjustment keeps this at three stars for our project team.

Reduced Surface Complaints

We upgraded multiple executive-office restroom facilities between 2022 and 2025 after earlier oil-rubbed-bronze touchless faucets repeatedly developed uneven finish aging, unstable infrared activation, and delayed shutoff timing during repeated daily operation, and by 2026 this faucet has maintained substantially steadier operational consistency than previous dark-finish sensor systems maintained in comparable commercial environments. Earlier bronze fixtures frequently required recalibration because of changing restroom lighting conditions and reflective countertop exposure, whereas this faucet maintained more dependable motion recognition with smoother stream regulation throughout continuous operation. Maintenance teams also observed fewer interruption-related service requests after installation. One reflective sink setup required slight sensitivity refinements during setup, but once standardized the infrared responsiveness and operational reliability remained highly reliable overall.
