Fontana Strasbourg™ Brushed Gold Deck Mounted Sensor Faucet FAQ

Infrared Touchless Activation, 1.2 GPM Flow; 5" Spout Height & Brushed Gold Surface Protection

The Fontana Strasbourg™ features a cartridge valve, a 5-inch spout height, 4.7-inch spout reach, 8-inch widespread mount, built-in water filtration, 360-degree swivel functionality, pop-up drain, ADA-compliant operation, and a maximum flow rate of 1.2 GPM.

How should the touchless sensor field be commissioned after installation?

Complete sensor commissioning only after the faucet, basin, countertop, backsplash, mirror, lighting, and surrounding restroom accessories are fully installed. Perform repeated hand-entry and withdrawal cycles from normal washing positions and confirm reliable activation followed by complete automatic shutoff. Check polished stone, mirrors, metallic accessories, and nearby movement for unintended sensor triggering before placing the faucet into regular service.

How should the 1.2 GPM maximum flow rate be verified?

Flush the supply piping before final connection and verify stable dynamic water pressure while the faucet is operating. Perform a timed volumetric flow test and confirm approximately 1.2 GPM maximum output under normal operating conditions. If flow is restricted, inspect available supply pressure, inlet filtration, supply fittings, outlet components, and any construction debris remaining in the water path before servicing the electronic sensor system.

How should the 5-inch spout height and 4.7-inch reach be coordinated with the basin?

Establish the faucet mounting position relative to the actual basin before drilling or final tightening. The 4.7-inch spout reach should direct the stream toward the primary washing area without striking the rear wall, drain assembly, or shallow bowl edge. Confirm that the 5-inch spout height provides adequate hand clearance while controlling splash. Maintain access beneath the deck for the sensor, valve, filter, and mounting components.

How should the Brushed Gold finish and sensor surface be maintained?

Clean the exposed Brushed Gold brass surfaces with a soft damp microfiber cloth and dry them after cleaning to minimize fingerprints, soap film, and mineral deposits. Keep the sensor area and outlet free from residue that could interfere with detection or water delivery. Use diluted pH-neutral cleaner when necessary and avoid abrasive pads, steel wool, acidic cleaners, chlorine-based chemicals, aggressive metal polish, and concentrated compounds that may alter the Brushed Gold finish.
