Fontana Milan Commercial Temperature Control Sensor Faucet FAQ
Self-Adjusting Sensor, 0.5–1.5 GPM Flow;
AC/DC Power & Thermostatic Mixing
The Fontana Milan FS-D508DC-B combines solid-brass construction,
adjustable infrared control, AC/DC power, and optional thermostatic
mixing for commercial lavatory installations.
What happens during the Milan's initial sensor calibration?
After electrical power is applied, the sensor automatically establishes
a suitable inductive range during its initial calibration period.
Leave the detection area unobstructed for approximately 10 seconds
rather than placing hands or tools beneath the spout. This allows
the controller to establish its operating environment before normal
activation testing begins.
Which aerator setting best coordinates the faucet with different basin geometries?
The Milan can be specified with aerator flow rates from approximately
0.5 to 1.5 GPM. Lower-flow configurations can help control splash at
compact or shallow lavatories, while higher available rates may suit
deeper commercial basins. Confirm the selected flow under actual
dynamic pressure and verify that the stream lands within the primary
washing zone.
When is the optional thermostatic mixing valve appropriate?
Use the available solid-brass thermostatic mixer when the project
requires controlled mixed-water delivery rather than a single
temperature supply. Coordinate hot and cold branches before
countertop completion, commission the mixed temperature under
operating pressure, and keep the mixing assembly accessible for
future inspection, adjustment, and servicing.
Why should the power and battery components remain service-accessible?
The faucet supports AC110V and DC6V operation, allowing commercial
installations to coordinate hardwired power with battery operation.
The installation documentation also provides a low-battery warning
when voltage falls below approximately 3.9 V. Maintain accessible
power connections so batteries, sensor wiring, and control components
can be serviced without removing the faucet from the countertop.
