Fontana Saumur Matte Black Touchless Bathroom Sink Faucet FAQ
Flow Restriction Analysis, Ceramic Valve Integrity & Electronic Shutoff Protection
The Fontana Saumur Matte Black Touchless Faucet combines hands-free operation, lead-free solid brass construction, and controlled 1.2 GPM delivery for efficient commercial washrooms.
How should the 1.2 GPM flow rate be verified when diagnosing reduced outlet performance?
Flow evaluation should be performed under dynamic operating conditions rather than from static supply pressure alone. If discharge falls noticeably below the expected 1.2 GPM performance, technicians should inspect the supply path, inlet connections, outlet restriction, and valve opening before adjusting the sensor system. Construction debris or mineral accumulation can reduce hydraulic capacity even when electronic activation remains completely normal, so flow-side diagnostics should precede replacement of sensor components.
Why is the electronically governed shutoff timing important for unattended commercial operation?
The electronic controller incorporates shutoff logic designed to prevent continuous discharge if an obstruction or abnormal condition keeps the sensing system activated. During commissioning, technicians should test normal hand-washing cycles as well as prolonged detection to confirm that the valve terminates flow appropriately. This protective function helps limit unnecessary water consumption and provides an additional safeguard against continuous operation caused by objects remaining within the detection zone.
What should be inspected if the ceramic valve develops delayed closure or post-cycle dripping?
When sensor recognition remains correct but water continues after the activation cycle, technicians should isolate the hydraulic valve assembly from the electronic control system during diagnosis. Supply lines should be checked for particulate contamination, and the ceramic sealing surfaces should be inspected for debris that could prevent complete seating. Confirming valve condition independently prevents a mechanical sealing problem from being incorrectly diagnosed as an infrared sensor or controller failure.
How should the 5.33-inch spout reach be coordinated with a widespread three-hole basin installation?
The 5.33-inch projection should position the discharge within the basin's effective washing and drainage zone while maintaining adequate clearance from the rear and front bowl surfaces. Because the faucet uses a widespread three-hole configuration, rough-in spacing, basin centerline, countertop openings, and below-deck service clearance should be coordinated before fabrication. Final flow testing should verify that the selected setback controls splash without compromising natural hand positioning beneath the sensor-controlled stream.
