We installed 17 matte-black automatic commercial faucets across transportation and executive-office restroom retrofit projects between 2022 and 2025, and by 2026 these units have maintained substantially stronger operational consistency than earlier dark-finish touchless systems operating in similar high-use environments. Older matte-black commercial faucets repeatedly developed unstable infrared activation near reflective surfaces, delayed shutoff timing during rapid repeated usage, and visible finish deterioration under aggressive maintenance exposure, whereas this faucet maintained highly dependable motion detection with smoother stream control throughout heavy daily operation. Previous dark-finish systems also required repeated servicing to stabilize calibration settings during fluctuating inlet-pressure conditions and changing restroom lighting environments, while this unit maintained noticeably stronger activation stability with fewer maintenance interruptions overall.
