Fontana Chatou Polished Chrome Rain Shower Head FAQ
1.75 GPM Flow Validation, NPT Sealing & Spray-Face Commissioning
This polished chrome 8-inch round rain shower head combines durable
brass construction, a water-efficient 1.75 GPM single-function spray,
Katalyst air-induction technology, a MasterClean spray face, and a
standard 1/2-inch NPT inlet.
How should the shower-arm rough-in be aligned before installing the head?
Verify that the concealed drop-ear elbow is rigidly anchored,
perpendicular to the finished wall, and positioned at the specified
projection. Incorrect alignment can place bending load on the shower
arm and prevent the spray face from remaining level.
How should the 1/2-inch NPT connection be sealed and pressure-tested?
Flush the branch line, inspect the male and female threads, and apply
an approved thread-sealing material without allowing excess sealant
to enter the waterway. Pressure-test the connection and inspect the
joint before completing final commissioning.
How should the specified 1.75 GPM discharge be field-verified?
Stabilize the supply pressure, purge trapped air, and perform a timed
volumetric test at the shower head. A low result may indicate branch
pressure loss, construction debris, mineral accumulation, or
restriction at the internal flow-control component.
What confirms balanced operation across the MasterClean spray face?
Confirm uniform discharge across the complete nozzle field without
inactive outlets, isolated weak zones, pulsing, lateral jetting, or
irregular droplet formation. Uneven coverage normally requires
branch flushing or localized spray-face cleaning.
