Fontana Fermo™ Chrome Automatic Sensor Faucet FAQ

Long-Reach Spout Engineering, Mixed-Water Stability & Copper Body Integration

The Fontana Fermo™ Chrome Automatic Sensor Faucet combines hands-free control, hot-and-cold water capability, and a sculpted copper body for contemporary commercial washrooms.

How should the 7.09-inch spout reach be coordinated with basin depth and drain position?

The relatively long 7.09-inch projection should be evaluated against countertop setback, bowl depth, drain centerline, and the intended washing zone before the mounting hole is finalized. Excessive projection over a compact basin can move the stream too close to the front wall, while insufficient bowl depth can increase splashback. Final commissioning should verify the stream impact point under normal operating conditions using the actual specified lavatory.

Why should the 5.91-inch faucet height be evaluated together with sensor ergonomics?

Faucet height influences hand clearance, user approach geometry, and the relationship between the sensor field and active washing zone. With an overall height of approximately 5.91 inches, designers should coordinate the faucet with basin rim elevation and countertop geometry so users can naturally enter the detection field without contacting the fixture. Functional testing should include different hand positions to verify comfortable activation across the expected user population.

How should hot and cold supply stability be diagnosed when automatic activation remains consistent?

If the sensor activates reliably but outlet temperature varies, technicians should evaluate the hydraulic supply and mixing arrangement before investigating the automatic sensor system. Hot and cold pressures should be observed under simultaneous building demand, because unequal pressure changes can affect mixed-water temperature from cycle to cycle. Stable sensing combined with unstable temperature generally indicates an upstream hydraulic or mixing-control condition rather than an electronic detection fault.

What installation practices protect the ceramic valve from contamination during initial startup?

Hot and cold supply piping should be thoroughly flushed before final connection so construction sediment does not reach the ceramic valve core. After connection, technicians should perform repeated activation cycles while observing flow consistency and complete shutoff. If dripping develops immediately after installation, the hydraulic path should be inspected for trapped particulate matter before electronic components are replaced, since debris at the ceramic sealing interface can prevent complete valve closure.
