Clear coverage, straightforward terms, and a simple claim process.

Coverage Summary

At-a-glance terms for core shower products and components.

Showers (concealed/mixer sets) Manufacturing defects in materials & workmanship (valves, bodies, trims, diverters, finishes) 3 Year Labor, removal/reinstall, and shipping not included.
Exposed Showers Defects in materials & workmanship (exposed bars, valves, thermostatic modules, finishes) 3 Year Follow scald-protection and anchoring guidelines.
Outside Showers Defects in materials & workmanship on models designated for exterior use 3 Year Requires proper winterization; damage from freezing, salt spray, or pool chemicals excluded unless otherwise stated.
Shower Heads Defects in materials & workmanship (head body, swivel ball, spray plate) 3 Year Mineral buildup is a maintenance item; routine descaling required.
Smart Showers Defects in materials & workmanship (digital controller, sensors, powered mixing valve, wiring) 4 Year Network, firmware, and power-supply requirements must be met; surge protection recommended.
Terms above apply to the original consumer purchaser and normal residential/commercial use. Where local laws mandate longer minimum terms, those take precedence.

Showers — Warranty

FontanaShowers® warrants that concealed/standard shower systems will be free from manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for one (1) year from the date of purchase by the original consumer purchaser.

Covered Components

  • Valves (pressure balance/thermostatic), cartridges, diverters, trims, and specified metal finishes
  • Sealing components and factory-assembled subcomponents

Remedy

At our option, we will repair or replace a defective covered part. Remedies exclude labor, removal, reinstallation, and shipping costs. Liability will not exceed the product’s purchase price.

Exposed Showers — Warranty

Exposed shower bars, valves, and trims are warranted against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for one (1) year.

  • Thermostatic/pressure-balance modules, diverters, risers, and exposed piping
  • Surface-finish defects on specified finishes under normal care
  • Anchoring and sealing integrity when installed per instructions

Outside Showers — Warranty

For models designated as exterior-rated, FontanaShowers® warrants against manufacturing defects for one (1) year. Proper seasonal care is essential.

Winterize before freezing conditions: drain lines and heads, isolate supply, and protect valves. Finish/weathering changes from UV exposure, salt air, or pool chemicals are considered normal wear unless otherwise specified on the product page.

  • Use corrosion-appropriate materials/finishes where marine or chlorinated environments exist.
  • Freeze damage, chemical attack, and galvanic corrosion from mixed metals are excluded.

Shower Heads — Warranty

Shower heads are warranted against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for one (1) year.

  • Body integrity, ball joint, spray plate/nozzle array under normal operating conditions
  • Finish integrity on specified finishes with proper care

Regular descaling is required in hard-water areas; nozzle occlusion from limescale is a maintenance condition and not a defect.

Smart Showers — Warranty

Digital/“smart” showers (controller, powered mixing valve, sensors) are warranted against manufacturing defects for one (1) year.

  • Controller electronics, sensors, powered/thermostatic valve assembly, harnesses
  • Requires stable power and compliance with electrical codes; GFCI protection where required
  • Firmware updates must be applied per instructions; unauthorized software or hardware modification voids coverage

Installation & Use Requirements

Install per FontanaShowers® instructions and local codes by a qualified professional. Products manufactured overseas may not meet certain local inspection requirements; verification is the purchaser’s responsibility.

  • Flush supply lines before connection; use clean, potable water.
  • Observe pressure/temperature limits; add balancing valves, check valves, and backflow prevention as specified.
  • Seal penetrations correctly; prevent water ingress behind walls and into electronics.
  • For exterior installs: provide isolation valves, drains, and covers for seasonal protection.

Care & Maintenance (Keeps Your Warranty Valid)

  • Clean with mild, pH-neutral cleaners; avoid abrasives, strong acids/alkalis, and harsh solvents.
  • Descale aerators/spray plates periodically; do not pin-prick silicone nozzles (massage to release scale).
  • Inspect seals and connections periodically; replace worn gaskets/O-rings.
  • For outside showers: rinse after salt/pool exposure and winterize before freezing temperatures.

What the Warranty Does Not Cover

  • Damage not caused by manufacturing defects (improper installation, misuse, neglect, vandalism, accidents, alterations).
  • Labor, removal, reinstallation, travel, or shipping costs.
  • Mineral buildup, blockages, or finish damage from harsh cleaners/chemicals.
  • Freeze damage, salt/chlorine attack, or UV/weathering on non-exterior-rated products.
  • Electrical damage from power surges, incorrect voltage, or improper power supplies (smart showers).
  • Third-party controllers/valves or modifications, and any non-Fontana accessories.

Commercial Projects Warranty

For project-specific coverage (including extended terms where offered), review the commercial warranty details and submittal requirements.

How to File a Warranty Claim

Step-by-step process
  1. Gather proof of purchase (order/invoice) and installation date.
  2. Document the issue (photos/video, model/serial, site conditions, water/electrical info where relevant).
  3. Contact FontanaShowers® Support with the above for evaluation and authorization.
  4. If approved, we will repair or replace the covered part per the warranty terms.
Information that speeds approval
  • Clear media of symptoms and any indicators (error codes/leaks/pressure readings).
  • Installer credentials and brief install notes (pressure, temperature limits, sealing and waterproofing details).
  • Maintenance steps already performed (descale, cartridge check, seal replacement).
