How should the shower branch be flushed before installing the finished head?
Remove the shower head and flush the branch until construction
debris, solder residue, loose scale, and excess thread-sealing
material are fully discharged. Inspect the shower-arm outlet and
1/2-inch NPT threads before final installation.
How should the 1/2-inch NPT connection be sealed and pressure-tested?
Inspect both threaded surfaces, apply approved thread-sealing
material sparingly, and engage the connection without cross-threading.
Tighten without transferring excessive torque to the brass inlet,
then inspect the pressurized joint for seepage.
How should the specified 1.75 GPM discharge be field-verified?
Stabilize the operating pressure, purge entrained air, and perform
a timed volumetric test at the shower head. Reduced delivery may
indicate branch-line pressure loss, construction debris, mineral
restriction, or blockage at the internal flow-control component.
