Fontana Verna Commercial Temperature Control Sensor Faucet FAQ
Self-Adjusting IR Sensor, 0.5–1.5 GPM Flow;
Thermostatic Mixing & AC/DC Power
The Fontana Verna FS-D5146 combines self-adjusting infrared control,
solid-brass construction, thermostatic capability, and AC/DC operation.
What does the self-adjusting sensor change during final commissioning?
The sensor automatically adapts its detection distance to the installed
lavatory environment. Complete final testing only after the basin,
countertop, mirror, lighting, and nearby accessories are in place.
Confirm reliable hand detection without nuisance activation from
reflective surfaces or objects outside the intended washing zone.
Which flow setting best suits different commercial basin geometries?
The Verna supports aerator configurations from approximately
0.5 to 1.5 GPM. Lower-flow settings can help control splash at
compact or shallow bowls, while higher available rates may suit
deeper basins. Verify the selected discharge under actual dynamic
pressure and confirm that the stream remains inside the primary
washing area.
Why must the thermostatic mixing components remain service-accessible?
Where hot-and-cold operation is specified, the optional temperature
mixing assembly may require commissioning, balancing, or future
adjustment. Keep the mixer, supply connections, solenoid, and
associated control components accessible below the deck so service
can be completed without disturbing the faucet or finished countertop.
When should the 0.5-second response and 60-second runtime protection be tested?
Verify both functions during final commissioning after the faucet
is operating at normal building pressure. Confirm prompt response
during normal hand entry, then maintain continuous detection long
enough to check the 60-second operating limit. This helps verify
that unintended extended water discharge is properly controlled.
