The Rio FS-D511DC-B combines infrared touchless control,
solid-brass construction, AC/DC operation, and commercial
gooseneck geometry for high-use installations.
How should the infrared sensor complete its initial calibration?
Keep the basin clear when the sensor cable is connected and allow
approximately 60 seconds for initial calibration. The sensing system
automatically establishes its operating field after power-up. Avoid
placing hands or objects directly in front of the sensor during this
period, then verify detection from normal washing positions.
How should the 11.5-inch gooseneck geometry be coordinated with the basin?
Establish the faucet centerline relative to the bowl before securing
the single-hole mounting assembly. The 11.5-inch overall height and
extended gooseneck configuration require adequate vertical and
horizontal clearance. Verify the discharge strike point under live
flow to control splash while preserving usable hand clearance.
How should the built-in strainer and solenoid water path be serviced?
Flush the supply line before connecting the control box and periodically
inspect the built-in strainer if flow becomes restricted. The strainer
prevents sediment and pipe debris from reaching the solenoid valve.
Maintain accessible below-deck service space so the filter, valve,
flexible hose, and control box can be inspected without removing the faucet.
How should the AC/DC backup system and automatic timeout be verified?
Test operation from the AC supply and the DC battery circuit separately.
The backup system uses four AA alkaline batteries. Confirm normal
sensor response, approximately 0.5-second operating delay, and automatic
interruption of extended flow. The control box should remain accessible
for battery replacement, diagnostics, and solenoid servicing.
